cooler in relation to the nearest rising water mains. Your Splash sales representative will also help you to decide on the
water cooler that best suites your needs and budget.
The European Point of Use Drinking Water Association (EPDWA) advise their members
on best practice relation to the connection of water coolers to the customers mains water
supply. The following diagrams illustrates the preferred mains connection of the
EPDWA and Splash Water Systems.
Connect to Customers Mains Water Supply
Double check non return valve - prevents backflow to mains water supply
Isolation Valve - acts as a shut off for water entering the water cooler
Pressure Regulator reduces the risk of any spikes in water pressure
Water Bloc - is set to limit the amount of water flowing to the cooler before stopping the flow of water completely
To water cooler
In the 19th Century Henry Doulton discovered
that filtering water through a porous ceramic
could stop people becoming sick from cholera
and other water-borne diseases. This was a
revolution in water treatment. 175 years later
Doulton ceramic filters are providing millions
of people with the water they can enjoy and
trust. Doulton filters are manufactured under
ISO conditions to ensure product consistency
and reliability They undergo rigorous testing
both in-house and by independent laboratories,
such as the National Science Foundation (NSF)
International Standard 42 & 53 and WRAS
(Water Regulation Advisory Scheme), to ensure
that a 1st class product is delivered every
time...

Where can you install a mains fed water cooler?
Almost anywhere as long as its within 20 meters of the nearest water main. Your dedicated Splash Representative will complete a free survey and recommend the most suitable water cooler and location based on your specific requirements.
How are the water coolers installed?
We install our water coolers using highly reliable, food-grade polyethylene tubing and John Guest fittings.
Every cooler installation is slightly different, but a typical
installation will involve connecting to the mains water supply in your premises then
running the filtered water line to the back of the cooler.
How do your know when the filters need to be changed?
The general rule of thumb is that the filter needs to be changed once the flow of water from your
cooler becomes noticably less that normal.
How often should the coolers be serviced?
Splash Water Systems is a member of the European Point of Use Drinking Water Association (EPDWA)
and as such we change all of our filters and sanitise every water cooler on a 6 monthly basis as per EPDWA guidelines.
Water coolers located in schools, hospitals or other areas open to the public should
be sanitised on a more frequent basis.
My filter candle blocks up too regularly, what can I do about it?
In some water conditions, there is so much particulate or turbidity in the water supply that the
filter element becomes blocked much quicker than in normal conditions. In these circumstances,
we would recomment that you install a pre-filter upstream of the ceramic candle. This prevents
the candle from becoming blocked too quickly and so extends its lifespan.
How are you monitoring your Carbon Footprint?
We are actively measuring our carbon footprint and have invested in a
program to evaluate and measure our genuine environmental impact.
Are your filters manufactured using renewable resources?
Yes. Our Filters have a ceramic outer layer and a carbon inner layer,
manufactured from burnt coconut husk.
How will you lower the environmental impact of your distribution logistic?
The logistics software and processes we use enable us to provide our services and
distribute our products in the most efficient way possible. Our plan is simple - fewer trips
means less ommisions from our vehicles reducing the impact on the environment.
What other environmentally friendly products do you supply?
Biodegradable Cups.
The revolutionary starch based design of our Biodegradable Cups ensures that they
decompose naturally in 47 days. Normal plastic can remain intact in excess of 100 years.
Reusable Bottles.
Our reusable bottle, lessens the amount of cups you use and have to dispose of.
What are the symptoms and effects of Dehydration?
Thirst serves as an alarm, alerting us to the fact that our bodies need water. Unfortunately it is reactive rather
than pro-active so by the time we feel thirsty, our bodies could already be mildly dehydrated. It is estimated
that a reduction of 2% in body water can result in a decline of 20% in work performance.
Why is water so important when excercising?
Research suggests that jogging for one hour makes you lose between 0.5ltrs and 1 ltrs of water, so it takes more
than just one glass to rehydrate. Remember to drink water before, during and after exercise.
The total amount of water in the body of an average adult is 37 ltrs
A person can live about a month without food, but only one week without water.
Humans drink an average of 2,000 gallons/7,500 ltrs of water thoughout their life.
Clockwork
Water flushes waste matter and toxins through the body. Insufficient body water
can contribute to fatigue, muscular pain, constipation and toxic retention.
Brain Food
Water constitutes 75% of the human brain. Moderate dehydration of the body
can bring on migraine, headaches, dizziness and fatigue.
Diet Tool
Water is the single most important catalyst in achieving permanent weight loss.
It suppresses the appetite and helps to metabolise stored fat.
Hydration
Tea, coffee and alcohol dehydrate the body and it is important to remember to
drink more water after consuming these drinks in order to maintain the proper
water levels for you body.
The EPDWA recommend that every water cooler is
sanitised and has a filter change every 6
months.
In order to ensure that your cooler is hygienically
clean, a member of our Splash Service Team will call
automatically every 6 months to sanitise and change
the ceramic filter in your cooler.
Water coolers that are located in hospitals, schools
or other areas open to the public may require
sanitisation on a more frequent basis. Your local
Splash Sales Representative will be happy to advise
as to the most appropriate sanitisation frequency for
your water cooler.
Our network of 11 strategically located depots and
fleet of modern vehicles ensures that we provide the
most comprehensive installation and sanitisation
